August 02, 2008 6:00 PM OMG looks like I'll have to explain the whole system. You type in Jgames.us.to. Your computer sends a request through power lines or Phone lines or whatever you have saying basically: "Give me the jgames.us.to index page!" It sends it to the nearest web server, which then basically says "Hmm... let's see here... ah! Jgames.us.to is hosted on the computer IP 64.131.11.xxx (blocked for safety)" and redirects it to my computer. No matter if my computer is in MN and yours is in Australia, your request comes to my computer. My computer's like "Here you go" and sends back the index page all the way to your computer. If you have high-speed internet, all that happens in .2 of a second. But anyway, if my computer's off, my computer can't really send or receive requests, can it? ---------- >.< |
