October 21, 2007 2:00 AM In case you're wondering, "Why is Jgames down all the time?", here's the topic for you. Here are some reasons, and the percentage of total downtime they take (Downtime for us is 23%) Mom unplugging computer because "It wastes energy when it's on all that much!" - 65% - What's to explain? IP Address changes- 25% -Everytime we reset our internet, the IP Address changes. I didn't know this until a few weeks ago. Before that, Jgames was down for 4 WEEKS! Now I know, and whenever it happens I change it right away. Getting 'Grounded' from the computer - 9% -It happens.... Power outages - 1% - This only happened twice. Well, there you go. Out of a month, Jgames will be out an average of 23% of the time. How can I change this? Well, if I could somehow have a plan to prevent my mother from turning off the computer once and a while, downtime would go down 65! We'd be at about 11% downtime! That's only a little worse than average. The IP address problem is stopping, so that will automatically go down 25% without me doing anything, so that's 17%-11% - 6% downtime! That's 94% Uptime! That's average. Any ideas on the "Waste of Energy" Problem? ---------- >.< |
